Canonical Lock (Current Decision Cycle)

This sheet is the canonical baseline for this site revision. Hull dimensions, displacement, aviation capacity, physical module positions, Cerberus positions, SCUTUM positions, crew bands, and berthing limits may not change without explicit owner authorization and a dated baseline revision.

IMM, IWM, ISO, Cerberus, and SCUTUM payload selections may change by mission or certified refit. Their physical position counts may not change without the same authorization.

Deck-Zone and LCB Orientation Lock

Each class's fore-to-aft zones total its locked overall length. A standard LCB is 60 ft x 25 ft; longitudinal bays place the 60-ft axis fore-to-aft, while crosswise bays rotate the 60-ft axis port-to-starboard.

Change-Control Rule

LCB Placement Lock

  • FFG: 1 longitudinal centerline forecastle LCB, 1 longitudinal centerline midships LCB, and 1 longitudinal centerline stern slide-in LCB.
  • DDG: 1 longitudinal centerline forecastle LCB, 2 crosswise midships LCBs arranged fore and aft on the centerline, and 2 longitudinal stern slide-in LCBs arranged port and starboard.
  • CAG: 2 crosswise forecastle LCBs arranged fore and aft, 1 crosswise midships LCB, 2 crosswise aft-gun-deck LCBs arranged fore and aft, and 3 longitudinal stern slide-in LCBs arranged port, center, and starboard.

Permanent-structure rule: these positions, foundations, boundaries, access routes, and service trunks are installed during construction and cannot be removed, exchanged, or relocated after construction. Any later IWM/IMM replacement is a certified major-refit alteration inside an existing LCB.

Stern slide-in orientation rule: every stern slide-in LCB is 60 ft fore-to-aft x 25 ft port-to-starboard x 15 ft high, positioned at the waterline with its opening aft. Crosswise deck LCBs are separate positions rotated 90 degrees so their 60-ft axis runs port-to-starboard.

DDG weight-discipline rule: the 15,000-ton DDG baseline is preserved by selecting appropriate IWMs and IMMs at build rather than loading every possible future option into the first-flight ship. Heavy growth items remain available through later block and refit pathways.

Production Sequence Lock

  • 1: FFG first (restore missing frigate/ASW capacity).
  • 2: CAG second (replace decommissioning cruiser command/strike role).
  • 3: DDG third (phase replacement with existing DDG service life).

Key Technology Lock

  • Trinion: 10-inch family baseline. Trinion-H and Trinion-L are 10-inch systems.
  • Layered defense: long-range missiles, Trinion mid-layer, short-range missiles, CIWS/Cerberus terminal layer.
  • Modularity: LCB/IWM/IMM plus ISO rapid-swap doctrine is baseline.
  • APM-IWM: one module uses a 60 ft x 25 ft footprint, rises 25 ft above the weapon deck, extends 15-20 ft below it, and carries 4 x 87-inch tubes with 3 CPS rounds per tube (12 rounds total). Loaded-weight reservation is 600 short tons pending Navy certification.
  • Production-award freeze: no stakeholder or capability change after award. Improvements move to the next hull, lot, flight, or scheduled refit; only verified defect, safety, cybersecurity, physical or information security, legal or regulatory compliance, or unavailable-part form-fit-function action may enter the awarded baseline through configuration authority.
